DanceHall

Dancehall is a music genre originating from Jamaica in the late 70’s with roots from the the Reggae genre. The popularity of Dancehall has spawned dance moves that help to make parties and stage performances more energetic. Many dance moves seen in hip hop videos are actually variations of dancehall dancing. This type of class has become known to be an immensely catchy street style of reggae “riddims”!

This is a fast-moving, feverish, “spiritual” class with an emphasis on strengthening technique and expression in the “black contemporary” style, tracing traditional dancehall steps and bringing it into a modern context. Dance to songs from Beenie Man, Rihanna, Sean Paul, Lady Saw, Ding Dong and more. From absolute beginners to advanced, we have a class or course to suit you.
